BSA Troop # 657

Welcome !

Welcome to the web home of Troop 657!

Troop 657 is a boy-run troop. Leadership is one of the methods of Scouting. Every boy will have an opportunity to participate in both shared and total leadership. The meetings are planned and carried out by the patrol leaders' council. All duties for patrol activities are assigned by the patrol leader. Understanding the concepts of leadership helps the boy accept the leadership of others and helps him to grow into a more responsible adult.

Troop 657 is active in outdoor activities that allow scouts to grow by applying the skills learned during troop meetings in real situations. Scouts learn self-sufficiency and leadership by participating in events that are planned and excuted by the scouts. Scouts learn citizenship and societal roles by participating in service projects that satisfy various needs within the community.

Our Charter Organization is Saints Peter and Paul Church in Cary, Illinois. They provide meeting facilities for us and ensure the program meets the guidelines of the Boy Scouts of America, and see that the scouts have trained leadership to meet the objectives of scouting.
